RepairTV prides itself in helpful and friendly customer service. We repair between 200 to 300 TVs and DVD units in a month, therefore our business model is based on volume rather the price. But that does not mean we sacrifice on our customer satisfaction.

The TV in question belongs to my handicapped sister. It had never worked since it was delivered. Several TV repair men had a try to fix it and failed. 10 years went by, then I contacted the TV manufacturers who said as it was so old, they weren’t able to repair it either. They suggested CONSUMONICS in Morden. I delivered it personally as was impressed immediately by their courtesy and professionalism and friendliness. They diagnosed the problem within a few days, and sent a quote (which was reasonable) I gave them the go-ahead and collected the TV a couple of weeks later. It works perfectly! I cannot speak highly enough of this little company and wouldn’t hesitate to recommend them to anyone. They do almost anything electrical even to a microwave oven which was being worked on. These “little gems” company’s need to be supported less they disappear.

Absolutely dreadful service

1) took my microwave away for repair came back in a dreadful state of repair to the point they said to the insurance company they have to replace the whole thing

2) when they brought back the microwave, they sent one delivery man who had to them install it. In the process breaking the glass of the oven. The microwave was heavy and I do not blame the delivery man but I am sure the company should not be sending out the individual by himself in the first place.

3) called the company last week and no one knew about the repair for the oven. Told i would be getting a phone call back which did not happen. Called again today saying the part was ordered no manager will contact you and it will take 4-5 weeks asked to talk to a manager again. The staff member on the phone was rude. I said i was not happy about the situation and want to talk to your manager and i am not happy with the service. His response “we are not service of making people happy”

Response from Repair TV – Television & DVD Repair Services

Thank you for your feedback. Kindly see responses below:

YOUR OVEN REPAIR:

We are certainly aware that our driver accidently damaged the glass panel of your oven while fitting the microwave, and where we did apologise for the incident but accidents can happen as you can appreciate. Kndly note that if any driver has assisted you in taking your appliance out of its fixtures then it has been offered to you as goodwill and any customer is supposed to have the appliance ready for collection from the doorstep (This is clearly stated in the terms of service provided as listed on our website).

Nonetheless, we accepted to have the front glass panel replaced and put your appliance back in for you in the original format. We do not manufacture the part needed for your appliance and as such cannot control their availability of the part needed for your appliance. Therefore whatever ETA has been given to us from them we have forwarded it to you.

YOUR MICROWAVE REPAIR:

In relation to your microwave, we are not the one who write any applaince off. You advised us that the front panel of your Microwave’s door had come off, we put it back for you as you were not covered for cosmetic damage by your insurers, but still carried out the repair as goodwill. In that process of reattaching the bezel we observed a very tiny ‘mark’ which your partner pointed out upon delivery but admitted that this was only minor and did not hinder the performance or use of the microwave in any way. Regardless, we brought it back and advised the insurers on replacing the front panel but based on the costing and ETA of parts, they decided it would rather be worth writing your appliance off. Therefore, this was decided by them and we do not control their decision.

CUSTOMER SERVICE COMPLAINT:

In relation to your last comment that our customer service agent would have advised you that “we are not service of making people happy” is completely incorrect. We have currently 2 colleagues answering the phones and are fully ‘aware’ of how your conversation went with the gentleman in question. All the information you required was given to you by the colleague who you spoke. We feel sorry that you believe that the reply to your queries was unhelpful to you. If you wish to contact the part’s manager then you may do so via email (see below).

Anyway, we will update you once the set is ready for delivery.

If you have any question then feel free to email hammad@consumonics.co.uk quoting your job number as reference.

I am really happy with the service provided by this company. Fast professional Friendly service. Diego was a lovely guy. I cannot comment on the value as my appliance is covered by insurance. However I would definitely recommend to a friend based on the service provided. Took TV on the Tuesday got it back Saturday happy days. 😊 Thank you so much.

They charged a £95 callout fee to fix my TV. They had it for about 10 weeks during which time they never once contacted me – they only ever responded when I chased them for information. They spent weeks telling me a part (£150) was on order and would be available in 7 days but it never came. Finally they said that they could source the part elsewhere for £200. I checked and the part was available for as little as £30 so I told them to forget it. So basically I paid them £95 to take my TV away for 2 months.

Appalling communication, wild over-pricing and they became rude when I asked questions about any of this. As far as I can tell this business is little more than a scam.

Response from Repair TV – Television & DVD Repair Services

Thank you for your feedback and we can understand you feel frustrated even though all respective questions raised above were answered already which at that time you understood, nonethless, please see the responses below to your queries.

Your TV was collected 15/04/21, and an update on the repair with costing and ETA was given to you on 20/04/21 which you approved and parts were ordered (reason of delay was advised to be sourcing of cheaper part costs for you). In relation to your comment that we never ‘once’ contacted you is incorrect as both you and us have the emails and texts to prove our updates to you on the repair. Yes we do agree however that towards the end because there was no change in ETA on the part we were unable to update you daily on this which to us does not make sense in sending daily updates when there is no change of status.

Your second comment that ‘we spent weeks telling you that part will take 7 days to arrive’ is again incorrect as you were updated from the get-go that the part (Costing £188) has unknown ETA from the supplier. Because of the delay in receiving the part we offered you an alternative option to get a part from another supplier who guaranteed delivery within few working days but were slightly expensive in price (£219) – £31 dearer to be precise. You were also sent the SCREENSHOT as per my email dated 03/06/21. Upon this suggestion you advised us to cancel the order and arrange for the return of your TV, which we did.

Based on the info we provided you claim that the part was available ‘as little as £30’ – You maybe correct but not sure why you did not mention that the part you suggested was from ebay and used, so comes with no warranty. Unless, you expected us to install used parts in your TV giving you false pretence and a repair with 5 months warranty, then I believe your allegation is baseless and incorrect. As clearly stated on our website in our terms of service as well as you would have been advised when you suggested using the £30 part that we can install it for you but the repair will come with no warranty as we can predict or insure on how long a used part may last or whether it would cause any further issues.

Coming to your last comments that we have ‘Appalling communication’ – This has been proven to you as baseless based on the proof both you and us hold via texts and email,

‘Wild over-pricing’ – Again incorrect and baseless as you were given a screenshot as proof of the manufacturer’s cost of BRAND NEW parts

‘and they became rude when I asked questions about any of this. As far as I can tell this business is little more than a scam’ – Not sure why you claim this as your conversations have always been via email but if you feel my replies to your emails have been rude then you are entitled to your opinion on this one.

Your claim that the £95 was paid for nothing to be done on your TV, is also incorrect. Unless, you were expecting us to callout to your home to collect the TV spending our fuel, insurance, driver costs, etc, and then spending time on the set for diagnosis, engineers’ cost, operational costs, etc. and then sourcing the cheapest available part for your TV, paying for our staff’s time, service bills, etc. all this from our own pocket then I am afraid you should have searched for someone else who would have spent time on your set for free as we are unable to do so at the moment.

It is unfortunate that we were unable to repair your TV within a set time, and cannot control the costing of the part from the manufacturer. But this does not imply that businesses like us are ‘scams’. If we were we would not be in business for over 18 years and certainly would not have had other customer who still stand loyal and happy with our service. We can only wish you good luck with your future endeavours.
